And he grows up more and more

CJ is allowed to go in the kitchen now to fix his own peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He carefully uses a butter knife for the peanut butter and a spoon for the jelly.  He even puts everything away when he’s done.  He’s becoming more and more independent.  When he tries to escape the house, his reason is always something to do with going to school – and he loves school.  He waits patiently for the bus, and no longer needs the harness.  But best of all, he’s learning how to play in his room quietly.   He asks to go places and see people.  I feel confident taking him shopping or out to eat, but he’s not ready to visit other people’s houses yet – there’s too much to touch and chew on.  I can’t relax until he stops trying to escape me to get to school or to get to something he wants in the store, but I believe that is coming.   Progress is constant and going well.
